| ‘When your cup is full, pour some away so the universe can fill your cup again’ Quote by Mr D K Gaur Philanthropy is the art of giving; when you give you are giving of yourself. If you’ve earned your money, no doubt you’ve worked hard for it. So when you give you want to know that the hard work and intention that went into what you are giving will be respected and the funds taken with that same intention. At the GHG charitable foundation that integrity is a fundamental principal of our ethics and our philosophies. We do pure business with an inner core of spiritual insight.
Mr D K Gaur started his charity work at the very beginning of the Gaur Health Group concept, at a stage when he should have been making sure that his cup was full instead of empty. Mr Gaur continued none the less and gained great experience in the process resulting in the understanding that opportunities must be given to those with plenty and those with less substantial means, both parties should be allowed to participate in feeling good whilst giving and receiving.
The GHG Charitable Foundation is a registered charity set up in September 2008. It only has one aim and that is to help under privileged babies and children with disabilities (minor and serious) whose parents cannot afford a full course of treatment. We found that this factor prevented many babies and children from receiving life altering treatment which could totally change their lives. Over the years we noticed that these children/babies often came in for 1 or 2 sessions and then their parents could not afford to bring them in for any more so the child/baby could not benefit fully from the programme that had been designed for them. As a group we helped quite a few to complete the programme but many children/babies were left on the wayside.
It was decided very early on that we had to find a way to help these deserving babies and children and so the GHG charitable foundation was set up. Each baby or child that is chosen to be taken through the full course of treatment is very carefully assessed as are their parents and their situation.
We do not receive any government funding towards our charitable work. We rely solely on donations from patients and organisations to treat these babies and children, and every contribution, however small, helps us to treat more babies and children.
Some conditions that we treat are
- Cerebral palsy
- Down’s syndrome
- Epilepsy
- Eczema
- Glue ear
- Asthma
- Sleeplessness to name a few
Our AimOur aim is to improve social injustice, families knowing that their child can be offered the treatment that is needed without the worry of finance.
The GHG Charitable Foundation will be responsible for the treatment of these young children until the professionals involved feel that treatment can be ceased.
The GHG Charitable Foundation will ensure that the right child is given the right support. This means that each child will be given the best treatment and it will be pure and from the heart.
Once we have been able to offer the right support the next aim of the GHG Charitable Foundation is to open Residential Homes in partnership with our Local Boroughs so that we can offer the best residential care possible to 3 different types of young children that the GHG has identified. They are
- Young children who have been diagnosed with Autism
- Young children who have very complex health needs
- Young children who have high levels of challenging behaviours
The aim will be to offer local resources so the young children can have regular contact with family, keep links with their local communities and stay at local schools. In addition, we will be providing GHG Bodywork™ to manage the young person.
The following write up is by a young mother whose child was treated at the GHG clinic in Hillingdon. Luckily she had help with the treatment fees by medical healthcare insurance. However, most parents do not have this priviledge. the following copy is in her own words. The childs identity has been changed but the case study is real.
I am writing with regards to the Gaur Health Group and the exceptional practice and service that I and my son have experienced.
My son, now aged two and a half years had suffered from an extremely traumatic birth and had been under hospital supervision from 4 months of age. Even at two years old the effects of his birth were still very obvious. He was far from a normal happy 2 year old. He was extremely lethargic, irritable with very poor concentration and had very little social skill. He was also being referred for speech therapy when I first visited the Gaur Health Group.
I have listed below the traits my son has that I have observed as a mother.- Very uptight
- Limited concentration span
- Poor eye contact
- Unusual obsession behaviour
- Irritable
- Not wanting to join in activities or to have fun
- Very rarely laughed
- Despite being taken to numerous mother and toddler groups, my son clearly did not want to be there. Often then not, we would have to leave due to his irritability.
- Sleeping very lightly and waking during the night. Would not sleep during the day despite being exhausted.
- I could not leave a room without him screaming at me.
- He could not bear to be left alone.
- Would refuse to watch television.
I consulted the Gaur Health Group for osteopathic treatment and cranial sacral treatment. Within the first 4 sessions, my sons sleep was much deeper and he also started to nap during the day which he had previously refused to do. His eye contact was brilliant, in fact I can honestly say that he had never looked me straight in the eye either when I was talking to him or when he was babbling. His speech was accelerated and clear.
My son had been referred for speech therapy by his ENT surgeon and now I feel he will not need to go.
My son is continually using the term ‘HAPPY’ which he has never done before. He has started to smile a lot more
My son’s treatment at the Gaur Health Group has been remarkable. Within weeks of treatment my son had made incredible improvement both physically and emotionally. I am able to leave a room and he is playing happily and chatting away. He watches some television.
These dramatic changes are not a coincidence since he has started treatment. I have strived hard for my son to be a normal happy little boy and I can honestly put my hand on my heart and say that it has now happened for us. I genuinely feel so lucky and grateful that I found the Gaur Health Group. My only regret is that I did not go to the Gaur Health Group when my son was a baby, as I am sure his issues would have been resolved earlier.
