Kundalini Yoga For Health
This Kundalini Yoga section has been written by Ms Victoria Chohan Yoga is a complete science of life that originated in India many thousands of years ago. It is the oldest system of personal development in the world encompassing the three fold structure of humankind: the body, mind and spirit. The ancient yogis had a profound understanding of humankinds essential nature and what we need in order to live in harmony with our environment and ourselves. They perceived the body as the vehicle, the mind as the driver and the soul as the true identity. Action, emotion and intelligence are the three forces that pull the body. To achieve harmony, these three forces must be in balance. Kundalini Yoga system delivers this balance leading to a sense of well being.
The word yoga originates from the Sanskrit root word jugit, which literally means union. The underlying purpose of all forms of yoga is to reunite all three aspects of ourselves, to join with the Infinite Self. Union with this Infinite Self (God) or pure consciousness liberates the spirit from all sense of separation.
Kundalini yoga is a hidden pathway, a secret technology which enables the individual to reach the ultimate potential. This is a technique that has the ability to elevate, inspire and awaken the individual to their own greatness, which is ultimately within every one of us.
Kundalini Yoga can be compared to a diamond and is the only form inclusive of all the three aspects (mind, body and spirit). There are 22 other forms of yoga, each one expressing a facet of this diamond. As already mentioned, it is the most inclusive of all yogic practises and it includes all aspects of yoga within the teachings. Within the practise there are 8.4 million kriyas (completed sequences). These kriyas are made of asanas (yogic postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), mantra (chanting), mudras(hand gestures), bandhs(body locks) and meditation.
The kriyas are a blend of static and dynamic asanas that deliver a perfect sequence of energy, tones and feelings played upon the instrument of the body. In the ancient scriptures it is well known that Kundalini Yoga is the fastest way to transform an individual.
Kundalini yoga is a legacy and is practised as an exact science. It is referred to as the yoga of awareness. Awareness leads to understanding and understanding to acceptance. When you accept yourself, all your limitations are replaced with abundance. There is only one way to practise Kundalini Yoga it is very specific and cannot be altered in any way. It is a sacred technology which is direct, powerful and simple. The results are phenomenal as can be seen by the transformations of those who practise this sacred art
It is important to understand that Kundalini Yoga is concerned with preparing the body for the kundalini energy to rise up through the Sushmana (the energetic spinal column). The scientific aspect of Kundalini Yoga is designed to provide you with the experience of your highest consciousness through the raising of your kundalini. Kundalini is your latent spiritual potential. Through the practise of Kundalini Yoga, this psychic nerve centre is awakened; its revelation is the release of your true potential. For this energy to awaken safely, body and mind need to be strong and able to deal with this very powerful change in consciousness. The practise of Kundalini Yoga is the powerful cleansing of the whole being. Not only does the body and mind need to be cleansed but also the energetic aspects of ourselves. The chakras (energy centres) and meridians (energy pathways) need to be unblocked and activated to allow this new influx of dynamic energy to flow freely throughout the whole being.
Kundalini and chakra work are closely linked. The kundalini energy can be depicted as a serpent, coiled in three and half turns, sleeping in the Muladhara (Base or Root chakra), the densest of all the chakras. Please note that the serpent representation is figuratively speaking and is the blueprint for full human potential.
Kundalini is known as the spiritual nerve, seated in the base of the spine, waiting to be awakened through the practise. The energy once activated starts to travel from the Muladhara (root chakra) upwards through the Sushmana, working through blockages and piercing the chakras along the way until it reaches the Crown, where full enlightenment is attained
The general pattern of a kundalini kriya is to awaken and build the Pranic energy. This is then guided to the relevant areas by the physical body dependent upon the kriya you are practising. There are 8.4 million kriyas all designed to deal with the day-to-day challenges. For example, there are kriyas covering all areas - physical, mental and emotional.
Meditation is also a very important part of the practise. This allows the body and mind to process the journey of the kriya. The energy has travelled along a certain pathway, awakening, dispelling and moving your energetic bodies. Through the process of meditation you will become Master of your mind.
How Does kundalini Yoga Work? This amazing technology, the most inclusive of all yogas, works around 16 times faster and deeper than ordinary yogas. You can feel the results in as little as 5 to 11 minutes. You don't even need previous experience in yoga or related disciplines!
Kundalini Yoga is a non-stressful way to promote flexibility, cardiovascular capability, weight and stress management, AND to cultivate energy, serenity, personal power and spiritual awakening. Its dynamic blend of breathing, movement, stretching, meditation, mantras and relaxation will enable you to look great, feel great, relax, enjoy life and live in grace and gratitude.
It works safely on every aspect of your body, mind, emotions and spirit. Kundalini Yoga facilitates the flow of pranic and spiritual (psychic) energy, in particular along the spinal energy channels and through the chakras.
The increase in your energy levels makes you feel better immediately after practicing just one of these potent exercises.
The practice of Kundalini Yoga combats the maladies of modern living, helping to reduce stress, to remove negativity and to eliminate depression. As you connect to your inner being, your heart will open and you will experience levels of self-love, peace and joy that you have never experienced before.
The benefits of Kundalini Yoga:- Strengthens the nervous system
- Balances Emotions

(Yogi Bhajan)There are no words that can describe the power of Kundalini yoga and how transformative it is:
Teachers show the door, however, the lock can only be opened by the individualKamon Wing Chun for Health
Healthy body, healthy mind, healthy soul
- the absolute potential of existence
Quote by Mr D K Gaur
There is an introduction to Wing Chun in the
What is the GHG Founder section, where Mr Gaur expresses his passion for martial arts and in particular Wing Chun. As has been expressed throughout the GHG website your health is your wealth and it is the greatest investment that one can make. In order to make that investment one needs commitment, and commitment is a state of mind. When you make the decision to address your health concerns, as you have done by visiting our website and/or a GHG clinic or medical institution, then the logical and sensible next step is to maintain, enhance and strengthen that decision. That can obviously be done by regularly visiting your GHG practitioner and at the same time using it as a platform or foundation from which to progress.
How does one progress? When you have made a decision to address your health, it means that there is an imbalance somewhere in your processes, because if there is an imbalance then your immune system will be impaired and you will become ill, diseased or in pain. The next natural step is that you go and ask a practitioner for help, this then goes towards achieving a balancing process, and a foundation is made by balancing your internal processes and internal systems.
A majority of the time, we in the health profession, find that there is an element of emotional or mental stress which impacts upon the immune system and initiates and intensifies the imbalance. Now the practitioner has helped to balance the foundation, now you have to build on this, this can be done with the body, by exercise and this can be done with the mind by attaining confidence.
How do we do both at the same time? When you take this step it is called progress from the platform or foundation we can give you at the GHG. It can be taken by learning martial arts and in Mr Gaurs humble opinion especially Kamon Wing Chun.
Why?When you exercise your body you will become stronger, you will become more co-ordinated and stimulate nerve pathways on both sides of the body which trigger back and fire and stimulate brain pathways and neural networks which go on to stimulate cross over activity between both hemispheres of the brain, thus creating that special thing called balance. This feedback means that not only do you create stronger connections between your brain and your muscles and bones but you also create confidence in your bodily abilities.
The knock on effect is simple but powerful, your body becomes more confident in what your brain is telling it to do, your brain is more confident in what your body can achieve and at the same time your outlook on your place in the world becomes one of relaxed freedom because you move away from your fears and go towards walking tall, walking confidently and knowing that you have skills and abilities you previously wouldnt have dreamed of.
Kamon Wing Chun?Mr Gaur has a background in martial arts but like a child discovering the wonders of this earth for the first time, with wide eyed anticipation and wonderment, Mr Gaur was literally blown away when Mr Kevin Chan showed him how much potential there still was in attaining a level of martial arts and street level skills. Kamon Wing Chun is so friendly to the mind and body and yet so effective in attaining the points made above and in enabling you to deal with situations that may not be favourable. But lets not stop there, lets take it one step further, Mr Kevin Chan talks about
Flexible Response, this means using the necessary force for the necessary moment, if there is no way through then why waste your energy hitting instead relax and carry on trying to find or wait for the way in, in a non resistant manner. When the opportunity arises, when you find the gap, hit and hit hard and hit for keeps with all your effort. This is
Flexible Response and taking this one step further as was mentioned means applying this to your life, go with the flow, feel it, in your personal life, in your business life, if you respond to the changing flows around you, you will always achieve more in a more relaxed and direct fashion expending as little energy as possible.
This is what Mr Gaur has found with the teachings of Mr Kevin Chan and he invites you to explore the benefits.
Martial arts gives you flexibility of mind and body, strength of mind and body and confidence of mind and body, each reflecting on each other. Mr Gaur especially endorses Wing Chun under the Kamon Wing Chun system due to the fact that he has practiced and learnt many martial arts and this system impresses by the fact that its roots are in tradition and its trunk, branches and leaves are constantly evolving. These are common philosophies between Kamon Wing Chun and the GHG.
Mr Gaur has also trained and practiced with Mr Kevin Chan, the founder of Kamon Wing Chun, on a regular basis and has been able to understand the essence of what is being taught throughout sessions and classes which are widely available in and around England and Scotland.
Mr Gaur has invited Mr Kevin Chan to introduce himself and Kamon Wing Chun here on our website..
The Kamon system of Wing Chun, as adapted by myself, is complete and highly effective. It has evolved for use in the 21st century and is continually evolving. The Kamon practitioner learns the complete traditional Wing Chun syllabus in depth, together with the best aspects of other fighting systems to make the individual well versed and flexible enough to adapt to any situation, making them unconventional and unpredictable.
Kamon is committed to the idea of being positive. While the emphasis is on self defence, it also provides the individual with a more balanced life style. Kamon regards a martial art as being a path towards spiritual and physical development. The federation provides a supportive environment to develop fitness, improve health, confidence, relaxation and self discipline. The classes are friendly and involving, incorporating etiquette, respect and good conduct. The instructors are very knowledgeable and approachable.
Kamon Wing Chun is self defence in its purest and most efficient form. The aim is to win in the shortest possible time when a physical confrontation becomes inevitable. We use the most direct lines of attack and defence; explosive punches and palms, devastating elbows and chops and savage low to mid section kicks. We use an opponents force to our advantage so size, build, gender and aggression will not determine the outcome. Kamon will prepare you for all eventualities in a fight situation. Most forms of combat will teach the practitioner to keep a comfortable distance to punch or kick. However, in real street-level defence, you may not have this luxury, especially where space is at a premium. Perhaps someone rushes in to grab you, or the fight goes to ground. Kamon addresses all these possibilities.
You will also learn how to be more intuitive with your body. How mental tension creates physical tension which inhibits the ability to react. Thus, developing the ability to relax under pressure and being in the moment is absolutely vital for a fighter.
Mental fitness along with co-ordination, muscle memory and reflex drills gives an individual a healthy mind, body and spirit, leaving the practitioner of Kamon feeling alive, invigorated, energetic to an extent of even halting the aging process.
Diet For Health
Nutrition or fuel is one of the three essential pre-requisites of life, the others being air and water.
In the words of famous physicians who have long gone you are what you eat. If you consider that what you eat will be used for energy to make you move and keep you active, what you eat will also be used as a medicine to heal and repair injured and regenerating body tissues and what you eat will become your bones, muscles, nerves, teeth etc. And the list goes on!
If you sit back now and consider the previous paragraph you begin to realise the enormous impact of your decisions about your food intake and the quality of your diet.
The common saying it is essential to eat five portions of fruit and five portions of vegetables daily in order to be healthy and stay healthy has taken a new twist considering that the World Health Organisation has now decided that this is not enough and it is now 10 portions of fruit and 10 portions of vegetables. This is now considered to be essential requirements to healthy living and good health for the future. Along with this you have to think about a decent amount of protein, carbohydrate, fats etc.
So plan your eating habits well, consider them carefully and go for the highest quality and most natural food that you can afford.
If you are on a diet the first rule is NOT to starve yourself. This is a very short term solution which will inevitably result in a yo-yo effect and is not realistic. You must realise that it is a lifestyle change that you require rather than stopping eating.
On a diet you must enrol on a realistic and supportive diet plan where there are people to guide you and direct you who also offer advice on what to eat and when to eat it.
Just as important as this is to find out why it is that you are overweight.
Is it because of some medical condition i.e. underactive thyroid, steroid medication etc? If it is then talk with your NHS GP or your GHG Private GP and come to some understanding and more realistic goals.
Is it because you are inactive i.e. lack of exercise, sedentary lifestyle? If it is then after making sure with your NHS or GHG Private Practitioner that you are physically able to, start a light fitness plan to become more active.
Is it because you are overeating? If this is the case then you must find out the root cause of this i.e. maybe some emotional, confidence, self esteem issues, maybe issues surrounding stressful situations and how you cope with them. If this is the case then you need to embark on a programme of self balance. Undergo some treatment at the GHG to release your stresses and undertake some programme like yoga and meditation to be at more peace with yourself which will translate in you being more in tune with yourself and realising when you are truly hungry and when you are not. Also knowing when you are truly full and when you are not.
Make sure that you are drinking plenty of fresh good quality water, approximately two litres per day, due to the fact that sometimes we can eat to satisfy a hunger when instead we are actually thirsty.
The old saying eat little and often is actually the best way to ensure a good metabolism with plenty of energy during the day and good training for the stomach to avoid overeating. This also goes hand in hand with the concept of stopping eating when you FIRST feel full or that FIRST feeling of satisfaction whilst you are eating, which most people tend to feel and stop for a moment but then they ignore it and carry on eating until they are stuffed full.
So, start to understand you self, your body and your needs and requirements and start to talk and communicate with your body in order to stay nutritionally well fed and also psychologically satisfied in your mind so that your relationship with food becomes a happier, healthier and more sustainable one.
In terms of nutrition it is always better to get your vitamins and minerals from their most natural sources i.e. fruit, vegetables, different foods. However this is not always possible, hence the next best thing is to make sure you are supplementing whatever your diet may be with the highest quality and most natural vitamin supplements. This ensures that you have the correct requirements for your energy demands during the day, the correct requirements for any repair and regeneration during the night and also to ensure future support for your body tissues.
Please feel free to browse our GHG online shop for further information about nutritional products, full write ups and purchases available.
Water For Health
Human beings are between 70 80 % water content based. When we take this into consideration we begin to realise just how important it is to replenish fluid levels during the day.
Is water really essential? When you consider that without regular top ups our body survival limit is a matter of hours or days! So the importance cannot be stated highly enough.
Every chemical reaction and function in the human body is reliant on the basics of oxygen (air), nutrition (food/fuel) and water.
Brain functions have been shown to be faster and more productive if hydrated well with water, the same goes for muscles during sport and also to help flush out the kidneys and allow the many detoxification processes that the liver has to undertake.
Although there is water present in food, there is much justification towards the idea that we should be getting at least between 1 2 litres of fresh clean water daily, outside of other fluids.
It is an amazing fact that approximately 80% of our planet in covered in water! This is the same amount in our bodies. We lose water daily via urine and perspiration (sweat) and this must be replaced through our diets in order to keep our internal balance correct. If water is not replenished then dehydration occurs and can cause symptoms such as headaches, tiredness and lack of concentration, in severe cases it can lead to kidney stones and chronic constipation.
GHG Pointers on how to achieve your daily water intake
- Increase your intake of fresh fruit and vegetables because they have a high water content.
- If you are at work keep a bottle or a jug of water on your desk so that you can regularly top your self up throughout the day.
- If you are out and about make sure you carry a bottle of water in your bag so that you can sip it regularly throughout the day.
- Finally, make it a habit to start your day with one or two glasses of water as soon as you wake up.
Breathing For Health
Oxygen is essential for life. We obtain oxygen from the air we breathe and it is carried around the body by your red blood cells having been picked up from the lungs. This oxygen feeds every moving system in your body that requires aerobic respiration in order to exist and sustain itself.
When we breathe, we not only breathe in but we also breathe out. What we breathe out is a by product of respiration called carbon dioxide. If you do not breathe this out it will kill you therefore it is essential, hence the importance of breathing.
You may be thinking,
Well Im breathing right now so why do I need to know about breathing?
And this is a valid question. However, function is a relative term, for example your normal small motor car can take you from A to B at 30 miles per hour without a problem but you would not want to drive it at 140 miles per hour around and around a racing circuit for two hours without making sure that the engine, brakes, tyres etc were up to the job.
Therefore preparing to make the best use of your lungs and breathing mechanism takes practice and guidance so that you are working at your optimum levels of oxygen uptake to allow your body to work at its peak when it needs to repair, function or when it needs to heal and relax. Also to make sure that you are working at your optimum levels of carbon dioxide release so that you are allowing your body to dispel waste products efficiently.
Breathing, as a physiological function, is unique because nerve signals coming back from oxygen and carbon dioxide in the blood and also from the lungs, depict and offset the depth and rate of breathing, at the same time the act of breathing itself is an act of voluntary muscles. Therefore, although the depth and rate of breathing can be altered, involuntary reflex activity limits the degree to which this can occur and because the need to breathe is essential these reflexes are important as they act as safeguards.
The need for oxygen is paramount for metabolism due to the fact that it is needed to burn food and generate energy. Therefore, when you take this knowledge into consideration, one starts to realise a few home truths about breathing, lung function, the rib cage and the absolute importance of correct breath.
Oxygen in the air is breathed into the lungs where it fills balloon like alveoli which allow the transport of oxygen from within themselves out into the blood system which surrounds them. Hence, when you consider that a vast portion of blood circulation around the lungs goes to the lower gravity effected parts then you start to understand why breathing through the diaphragm or effective breathing is so important.
In order to expose the largest amount of blood system to oxygen one should endeavour to breathe though the diaphragm for efficiency. Something interesting to observe is a small child or infant when they breathe, due to the fact that the chest bones mature quite a long time after birth they can only use their diaphragms for breathing.
NOTE: The diaphragm is composed of a flat sheet like muscle which sits at the base of the ribcage and is shaped like two domes when relaxed (left and right). It drops and becomes flat when correct breathing through the diaphragm is practiced thereby raising internal abdominal pressure and allowing the tummy to protrude slightly. This allows for the lungs to expand downwards and air to go into a blood rich area and at the same time a gentle massage by the diaphragm is applied to the organs of the upper abdomen keeping them mobile and healthy.
Breathing also occurs in the middle and upper portion of the chest and lungs. This is achieved by work done through the rib cage by the small muscles between the ribs. Chest breathing requires the individual to breathe more frequently due to the fact that more oxygen is needed to achieve the same blood oxygen mix that occurs with deep diaphragm breathing. Therefore more blood needs to circulate through the lungs, which means that the heart has to work much harder. The conclusion being that the more efficiently you breathe the less pressure you put on your cardio-vascular system.
During vigorous exercise the body demands more oxygen and in order to supply that the top of the lungs are asked to pitch in. Using the collar bones by pulling upwards at the end of an inbreath the top of the lungs are filled with oxygen.
When breathing is practiced efficiently the diaphragm is used first then the middle rib cage and finally the top of the lungs at the collar bones and also in that sequence.
To start practicing breathing and for relaxation here is an instruction
Begin by sitting upright and comfortably and breathing through the nose only take a deep slow breath using a full seven seconds to breathe fully into the diaphragm first, middle chest then collar bones.
Try then to hold this breath for seven seconds and then through the nose only take again a full seven seconds to breathe out fully.
Try then to hold this breath out for seven seconds before beginning the cycle again.
Try to do this cycle seven times, maybe once in the morning and once in the evening, the benefits are relaxation and efficient breathing.
Pranayama For Health
PRANAYAMA IS FOR THE PURIFICATION AND STRENGTHENING OF THE NERVE CHANNELS.
Prana is the subtle life force permeating and pervading the entire universe. It is the soul and essence of all motion and force and energy. The sum total of energy displayed in the universe in called prana.
Yogis know of 72,000 nadis or nerve channels in the human body through which the vital currents of prana flow to all parts of the body and supply energy and vitality.
Pranayama is the regulation and control of the vital cosmic life force and energy through inhalation, stoppage and exhalation of breath.
Pranayama is also inextricably linked to Kundalini Yoga and both practices are taught simultaneously.
THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS ARE A WORKING EXAMPLE OF THE EXERCISES FOR PRANAYAMA . BEFORE EMBARKING UPON SUCH A DISCIPLINE YOU SHOULD HAVE DIRECT COACHING AS IT IS EXTREMELY POWERFUL. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT GHG HEAD OFFICE. Sit in a comfortable posture, either on a chair or in a yogic posture on the floor on a woollen blanket or rug, facing East in the morning and North in the evening, with head, neck and spine in a straight line.
Lock vibrations by pressing together thumb and forefinger of both hands and place hands on the knees with palms down.
Fix the inner gaze, with eyes closed, and between the two eyebrows, without any muscular pressure or tension. Inhale and exhale rhythmically through both nostrils for a few minutes.
Then with the right thumb, close the right nostril, inhale slowly through the left nostril and fill lungs to a comfortable capacity. Then close left nostril also with the index finger of right hand. Hold both nostrils closed and retain breath as long as you can comfortably without any strain or tension. Then exhale very slowly through this right nostril after removing the thumb, while keeping the left nostril closed. Holding the left nostril closed, inhale slowly through the right nostril to comfortable capacity. Then close with thumb and, keeping both nostrils closed, retain breath as mentioned above, then exhale slowly through the left nostril after removing the index finger and keeping the right nostril closed.
These two processes of breathing through alternate nostrils constitute one ordinary pranayama. Do seven pranayamas to start with and gradually increase to ten or fourteen at one sitting according to your capacity. The most suitable periods are early in the morning before breakfast and at sunset before dinner.
PRANAYAMA
Sitting in a chair neither too high nor too low or on the floor in a yogic posture, and locking vibrations as explained above, inhale in a slow and steady rhythm through both nostrils in seven counts without any strain or pressure. Then control and control breath for fourteen counts and exhale through both nostrils in seven counts. Then control and suspend breath outwards which means no breathing for seven to fourteen counts. Repeat the entire process seven times twice daily.
BHASTRIKA
The word Bhastrika means bellows. Hence the rapid succession of forcible exhalations is a characteristic feature of bhastrika. Just as a blacksmith blows his bellows rapidly, in like manner you expel your breath in rapid succession. Do as follows - Sit in a posture as described in the first paragraph, holding the head, neck and spine in a straight line with the mouth closed. Now inhale and exhale through the nostrils in rapid succession seven times like the bellows of a blacksmith by dilating and contracting the chest each time and controlling the motion of the breath from the solar plexus. Then take a deep breath through both nostrils and retain as long as you can comfortably and exhale through nostrils slowly. This is one bhastrika. Repeat three to seven times once a day before eating, preferably in the morning.
Positive Thoughts For Health
Your thoughts are created in your mind and your mind is in direct contact with your brain, your brain stems and becomes your spinal cord, your spinal cord gives branches called nerves that extend out and reach into and embed into every single part of your body all the way to cellular level.
Therefore if you are thinking negative and stressful things then it is translated directly into your body via the pathway explained above. Your body has no choice it has to express itself; this is commonly referred to as body language. Many studies and research have shown validity in the theories behind body language and it is true to say that whatever you are thinking about is transferred to the body.
Therefore, remember, that the reason why people find it so positive for the body to pray, meditate or just even take some time out for themselves to get peaceful during or after a normal day, is because they get filled with more peaceful and positive thoughts that inevitably translate that calm and peace into the body.
Meditation For Health
Meditation is a process where an individual is trying to attain a higher state of mind by practicing focusing techniques which enable a disengagement of the thought processes.
In the mind, body and soul complex, meditation is a key factor for enabling balance to be achieved. The health benefits are vast and varied. Some people use meditation to control the ill effects of cardiovascular and respiratory illnesses and some have even recovered via meditation from terminal illnesses such as cancers. These are key reasons why so much research is being conducted in this field.
Meditation is basically a very relaxed state of concentration and awareness whilst suspending or disengaging all thought processes so that the mind and the body are in absolute peace and harmony and all bodily systems can be allowed to function at their peak without the intervention of the fragile mind and brain which occasionally put limits and negative thought processes into the body.
A way to practice meditation other than the conventionally thought of procedures is to NOT fight with your thoughts as your sitting there comfortably in your meditation. Instead, when you have found a comfortable seated position, just allow your mind to have its thoughts, dont fight them just accept them, when they come just say hello to them and tell them whenever they want to leave they can leave and then another thought enters, and you do the same again. If you do not fight with your thoughts your meditation practice will not be marred by frustration, instead you will be peaceful enough to notice that between your thoughts there are small gaps. These gaps are where you meditate and slowly through time you will notice that the thoughts gets less and the gaps get longer until a time when you just get long, long gaps and that is when you have attained perfect meditation where your body and mind can heal.
Laughter For Health
There is a saying that says laughter is the best medicine, and there have probably been many, many studies and researches into the validity of this statement.
What we already know through our common sense is that when we laugh we feel as if the whole world has no problem in it and in order to laugh we have to forget everything except for that moment.
There are now actual laughter therapies, which help to alleviate sickness and illness, operating in different areas of the world. This tells us that there are people taking it very seriously indeed as well as patients who are taking it very seriously also.
When we laugh we start to release endorphins, which are happy hormones that invigorate the body and mind so that the more you laugh the more endorphins are released. Whilst laughing we start to use the diaphragm which is a muscle just below the rib cage separating the heart and lungs from the abdominal (tummy) organs and this muscle is used in deep breathing, hence its action during laughter is significant and wholly beneficial.
The physiological and psychological benefits of laughter have been studied thoroughly and some have concluded that it can improve health, increase your life expectancy and improve your overall well being.
So please remember that any opportunity you get to become child like and have a good giggle or a big bout of laughter will always be beneficial.
Achievement & Ambition For Health
Ambition and then achievement of that ambition results in something very powerful and that is confidence. Self confidence has a direct impact on our health due to the fact that we start to think differently about ourselves, we walk slightly taller and with a bit more assurance, we breathe a bit more deeply and speak with a bit more hope about ourselves.
No matter what the ambition, whether it be to take just one step forward without a walking stick or whether it be to create a global organisation and become a billionaire, the achievement has one thing in common, its your achievement so it is significant.
In life it is good to have goals and every time you achieve the goals you set yourself you create a happier, more confident and ultimately healthier you.
Inner Peace For Health
For some people the term inner peace holds far more significance and acceptability within their lives than other terms which may signify something similar like the term meditation.
Meditation is very often used when people are trying to attain a higher state of mind, whereas Inner Peace is very often that quiet place inside which is where you connect to yourself and begin to recharge your batteries or contemplate on an issue or just give yourself your own peace of mind.
Inner peace is created when you practice slowing yourself down and giving yourself the opportunity to become the eye within the storm. This is where you identify that the storm around you which is your life is totally separate from the peaceful inside that you have always with you and usually al we need to do is slow down and practice remembering it and identifying it.When you tap into this your heart rate and your breathing start to slow down and blood rushing around your body starts to relax and the tension that was holding your body do tightly starts to release when you slowly start to realise that your inner peace is far more important than whatever is going on around you.
Relationships For Health
Love, harmony, peace and friendship. Enjoying the connections in life is essentially what we have to experience in life. Our deepest joys, our biggest achievements and our best victories mean nothing if they are not shared or we have no one to share them with.
Remember that peace of mind means the peace we feel in our bodies when we have calm and appreciation for where we are and what we have. This is essential so that you give yourself the time to enjoy your surroundings and the people around you, so that both you and they benefit from each other.
Nurturing a relationship and giving it time, love and respect in order for it to flourish is like tending to a garden or a beautiful plant, the more you give unconditionally and with good intentions the more it will give back to you.
Recent studies say that when stroking a cat, dog or sitting peacefully with a sleeping baby can lower your heart rate and your blood pressure, these are all creating relationships and harmony in your life. If you have a disagreement then as soon as you can try to work through it and make up and understand each other, apologise to each other and tell each other how much you appreciate each other, it will be so good for your health and you will feel light as a feather.
So remember to take time and give time for relationships with yourself, your loved ones and all the things and objects around you and live a fulfilling and healthy life.
Creating & Giving Time For Health
When you tend to a plant with love, time and affection it grows tall and strong, when you tend to a child with love, time and affection the child grows healthy and happy, when you tend to yourself and give yourself love, time and affection you begin to attain self esteem, confidence and strength.
Every day is made up of tasks and chores and making sure that everyone around you is happy and fulfilled. But remember charity begins at home, if you are not strong, confident and energetic then it is very difficult to bolster anybody else.
Therefore creating time every day for yourself to sit and give to yourself improves your energy and well being and ultimately your health as your bodily functions start to relax and take time for themselves to regenerate and replenish their stock. Ultimately, you then start to begin to give of yourself at your best to your loved ones, who deserve to have you at your best also.
Savouring The Basics For Health
The fundamental basics in life are breathing, eating, drinking, sleeping and loving.
When you consider that these allow us to enjoy all the activities and connections we have in life you begin to understand that these are the foundations and building blocks for the quality you have in your life.
Some of us have moments in our lives where we forget these and we become functional, robotic human beings others live their whole lives this way and only remember that they were supposed to have savoured the basics when it is too late.
Dont make the mistake of making it too late instead live your life savouring your basics.
Breathe well and deeply using the information on the breathing for health section, it will slow down your heart rate and allow you to look around at the picture which surrounds you.
Eat well using the information on the diet for health section, remembering to chew your food instead of gulping it and allowing your taste buds to explode which the sensations and tastes held in that precious energy giver at the same time savouring the people surrounding you while you eat.
Drink well using the information on the water for health section staying hydrated helps to keep your concentration and gives a deep satisfaction in the tummy as well as welcome little breaks every time you sip it during the day.
Sleep well using the information in our GHG tips for your good health section, sleep is when you give back to your body what you have taken from it during the day, allow it to repair and regenerate in peace and the way it wants to. Try not to fight it, put all arguments to rest before you sleep and especially write everything down on a list of what you have to do the next day so you are not trying to hold onto it or thinking about it.
Love well, you will see love in every single section of this website, come and visit our clinics and you will see examples of this everywhere. When you love well you receive so much back, all you have to do it make the first step, and that just takes courage.
We have seen many, many people who forget the basics and they just need reminding not just from ourselves but from yourselves too. Now let us show you how you can identify someone who is living like this so that you can help them.
Please guide everybody who can make more of their lives
The Eye Of The Beholder For Health
If I had three wishes for me and my family I would ask to be Healthy, Wealthy and Wise
Quote by Mr D K Gaur
Wisdom says that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, which means that there is no real common ground upon which all people say that one thing is good or beautiful any more than anything else. Everything is in the perception of the individual and the most important part of that is what you feel and think about yourself.
There are cultures in the world that think and believe that bigger is better; there are others that believe that the opposite is better. Ultimately it means there are differing views all around us in all people and this means that there is every reason to have confidence in yourself no matter who you are and what you may think you look like.
There are people who may look great but have such low self esteem that they do not accept it or have any self confidence or believe that they deserve happiness.
Ultimately, you should treat yourself with the dignity and self respect that you deserve as a valuable human being and understand that no matter what your outward appearance and what you may feel is normal - at the end of the day, from the many people you impact everyday
BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER
Accepting Wealth For Health
If I had three wishes for me and my family I would ask to be Healthy, Wealthy and Wise
Quote by Mr D K Gaur
For many people ambition for material objects and items including money comes very easily, for these people there are no real issues or lessons to be accepted or learned about this topic and slowly they will attain a balance between their material, emotional, social and spiritual facets.
For many other people, material gain, money and wealth come with real issues conflicting sometimes with philosophies taught to them, guilt and issues of self esteem and whether they deserve it. For each of these factors there is a direct and equally strong result, that being that indirectly and subconsciously a block occurs towards whatever wealth that person is entitled to.
No two people are the same and no two lives are the same, no two destinies are the same and no two life paths are the same. To hope for this and to expect this would be futile. There has to be some acceptance that your life is your life and other people have to live theirs. They have to live by their decisions and choices just as you have to live by yours.
By understanding that we live on this earth and we have to survive brings forward the concept that everybody is trying to live and everybody is trying to get ahead. We are all trying to achieve more and more and do better for our coming generations, there is a process of evolution occurring which is an inherent part of us. Wealth is an important part of this process as it enables us to have shelter and food of the highest quality that we can afford given the position at the time.
Remember these points and keep them close to your heart.
